I’ve been talking a lot about Final Fantasy VII Remake recently, and for a very basic reason: it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 next year, and that’s a big deal, especially since Square Enix confirmed that it’ll drop the other entries in the “Remake Saga” on the platform, too. Naturally, though, there are those who think the Switch 2 can’t run the game properly. As I wrote about recently, the game’s director made it clear that all the titles in the saga will run well on the Nintendo console, and he personally loved playing it in handheld mode.
I know that won’t be enough for everyone, so why not see the game for yourself via the Tokyo Game Show? The event has dropped PLENTY of gameplay footage over the last few days, including for certain Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives and 3rd party ports. Final Fantasy VII Remake was one such title, and as you’ll see below, whether it’s in cutscenes or in combat, the game looks good.

The big question here is obviously, “How much will it actually sell on the Switch 2?” I truly can’t say, but with the other two entries coming to it as well, and it being the only way to truly play it portably, it might draw in a good crowd.
Oh, and if this video still isn’t enough to convince you, it’ll work well on Switch 2; there’s a demo coming out later this year.
