Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections Switch 2 Demo Shown At Tokyo Game Show

Battles, cutscenes, and monsters, oh my!

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections

The Monster Hunter franchise is a fascinating one to dissect because, at first, it was basically only popular in Japan. Then, Capcom figured out how to get Western audiences to adore it, and things took off. It took off so well that not only does it have mobile titles under its belt, but it has a true RPG-style spinoff series that’s getting a third entry next year via Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections. The spinoff franchise was born on Nintendo platforms, but they are available on other systems, including all three games coming to Xbox.

What I’m talking about today, though, is the demo that is currently being shown off at the Tokyo Game Show. As you’ll see in the five-minute video posted below, we get a look at how Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections does combat, with both familiar and new things being displayed. You can also tell that the Nintendo Switch 2 is handling it well, just like certain other games Capcom will bring to the platform soon.

While I’m not a Monster Hunter fan, I was encouraged on an episode of the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast to try out Monster Hunter Stories 2, and I liked it for the most part. This entry looks to be bigger and better than what came before, and you won’t need to have played the previous two games to enjoy it. So, if it tickles your fancy, why not give it a shot next year?
