FOX HUNT Multiplayer Mode Arrives in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Next Month

By Keith MitchellSeptember 25, 2025
FOX Hunt Game Mode Revealed

Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is getting a new online multiplayer mode called FOX HUNT. The update arrives on October 30, 2025, as a free download for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).

Unveiled during the “METAL GEAR – PRODUCTION HOTLINE” presentation at Tokyo Game Show 2025, FOX HUNT adds a “hide and seek” twist to the series’ tactical espionage action. Up to 12 players enter survival missions where stealth, awareness, and precise positioning decide who makes it to the end.

FOX HUNT drops players into training missions as candidates for the covert FOX unit. Survival depends on resourcefulness. Procure weapons, set traps, and use the jungle to outsmart opponents, and will introduce two new game modes; Survival Capture & Survival Intrude, as well as new tools.

  • Survival Capture — A multi-phase mission centered on capturing Kerotan frogs scattered across the map. As the number of frogs decreases, encounters intensify and force direct clashes.
  • Survival Intrude — A zone control mode that requires players to infiltrate and hold designated areas. With each phase, the number of zones shrinks, which raises the importance of stealth, timing, and positioning.
  • AT-CAMO suit — Adaptive camouflage that instantly changes patterns to match the environment. Use it to evade pursuit, stage ambushes, or slip through contested zones.
  • Naked Sense — A detection action that helps identify enemy presence and item locations, which adds another layer of tactical awareness.

Between the two new game modes, survival capture sounds like its’ going to be blast as players encounter each other, fighting off against other players, demanding their frogs. Yeah, this sounds like my kind of game mode.

With this, the frustration of Metal Gear Online not being accessible via the remake is now over or will be shortly. We haven’t given the new online mode a try since it’s currently not available. That said, we can only hope that does the game justice and doesn’t disappoint. As soon as we get some playtime with Fox Hunt, we’ll be back to tell you all about it.

If you missed it, read The Outerhaven’s review of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater for our full breakdown of the single player experience.
