Octopath Traveler 0 Gets New Trailer At Tokyo Game Show

Learn more about how the game is being upgraded!

Square Enix has been killing it with the HD-2D titles that have helped RPGs, both new and old, get a new look and expand upon what these games can truly be. Dragon Quest has gotten the tap quite a bit with this sub-genre, and it’s worked out well, but one franchise in particular is what kicked it off, and that trend will continue when Octopath Traveler 0 arrives this December. At the Tokyo Game Show, a new trailer was unveiled for the game, and it highlights both the gameplay elements in and out of battle, and showcases the special Path Actions the game offers.

For example, one of the key elements that separates Octopath Traveler 0 from the past two entries is that you can rebuild the town of Wishvale after it was burned to the ground. A Path Action, Invite, allows you to bring characters you meet to the town to help restore it and grow its population.

Then, in combat, you can now assign “Action Skills” to help build up your 8-person squad so you can break the enemy faster and be ready for whatever challenges await. Check out the trailer below:
