TOHO Animation announced on Monday that the previously revealed anime adaptation of Though I Am an Inept Villainess will air in 2026. A new promotional video has also been released, which can be viewed below.
The first two cast members have also been revealed, with Manaka Iwami as Kou Reirin and Natsumi Kawaida as Shu Keigetsu. The anime will be directed by Mitsue Yamazaki at Studio Doga Kobo.
The novel series by Satsuki Nakamura was originally posted to Shōsetsuka ni Narō in July 2020 and received print publication later that year. The series has since released ten volumes of the light novel and eight volumes of the manga. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing both the light novel and manga in English.
Following the announcement, the publisher of the light novel also revealed that the series has reached four million total sales between physical and digital copies of the light novel and manga.
