RGG Summit 2025 airs September 23, Promises New Reveals and Updates

By Keith MitchellSeptember 22, 2025
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Summit September 2025

SEGA and RGG Studio (Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio) are reminding fans to tune in to RGG Summit 2025, that takes place on September 23 at 8:00 PM PT / 11:00 PM ET, for the latest updates from the studio. After the Summit, a new RGG Direct will air with a deeper dive into the newly announced information, including Stranger Than Heaven and the next Virtua Fighter title, which has yet to receive a proper name.

You’ll be able to watch the broadcasts on YouTube (SEGA West) and Twitch (twitch.tv/sega).

RGG Studio is currently focused on two major projects. The first is Stranger Than Heaven, a detective-style game formerly known as Project Century. It introduces survival elements such as hunger and thirst, along with moral choices that affect the story. Spanning multiple decades in early 20th century Japan, it is a bold shift from the studio’s usual Like a Dragon formula and is scheduled for release in 2026.

The second is a brand-new Virtua Fighter title that brings a single-player story mode to the franchise for the first time, built from the ground up for modern consoles and PC. This marks a true return for the series, as the last completely new entry, Virtua Fighter 5, launched in arcades in 2006. While updates and remasters have followed, fans have been waiting nearly two decades for a fresh installment, making this especially exciting.
