It says a lot that it’s only been a week since the last Nintendo Direct, but Nintendo is ensuring that people truly know that certain big games are coming soon, and that you should pay attention to them. At the Direct, Hyrule Warriors Age Of Imprisonment was one of the key announcements, as we finally got the release date of November 6th, while also getting more teases of what we can do in the game, like with Sync Strikes. Today, Nintendo dropped a mini-teaser trailer for the game, featuring some new footage mixed with more examples of the Sync Strike combos you’ll be able to do in the game.
However, things didn’t stop there. At the end of the trailer, they revealed that two special weapons await gamers if they have save data from Tears of the Kingdom and Age of Calamity. More specifically, you’ll get access to the High Guard’s Sword and High Guard’s Claymore. Why are these weapons special? First, each weapon in games like this offers you new abilities and play styles to have fun with. So, if you wanted a different way to defeat foes, this is an option for you.
The other reason you might be interested in this is that these are clear references to Link. Many have wondered whether Link will show up in Hyrule Warriors Age Of Imprisonment despite him not being “in the timeline” at this point of the journey. After all, in TOTK, while Link was trying to defeat Ganondorf in the present, Zelda was sent back into the past, and she had to return to him “the long way” to stop Ganondorf once and for all.
Many speculate that a “construct version” of Link could appear in the game. We’ll have to wait until November to find out, though!
