WEBTOON today announced the winning creators and series for its first-ever “Webcomic Legends” contest. Akikakie’s action-packed Covenant once given will take home the $150,000 Grand Prize and join the WEBTOON Originals lineup. Additional winning creators were recognized across multiple genres, taking home their share of more than $1 million in cash prizes.
WEBTOON’s inaugural “Webcomic Legends” contest received nearly 4,000 entries from new and returning CANVAS creators, drawing over 5.3 million views. “Webcomic Legends” is a launchpad for the next generation of webcomic artists, giving amateur creators the chance to reach millions of readers on CANVAS and become a professional WEBTOON Originals creator.

With a $1 million prize pool, our goal is to support as many creators as possible while continuing to make WEBTOON the most creator-friendly platform. We’re proud to support a new generation of creators who will become the comics legends of tomorrow.”
Covenant once given follows Noah, whose life was turned upside down by a witch. Years of pursuing her leads him to the City of Bridges, where he may uncover more than expected. In addition to winning the “Webcomics Legends” Grand Prize, the series also won the Most Epic category.

In total, WEBTOON will award winners with their share of more than $1 million in prizes to contest winners, including genre finalists and runners-up. Other category winners include:
