KADOKAWA, CyberAgent, and CygamesPictures announced that they have released behind-the-scenes videos of The Summer Hikaru Died on their YouTube channel. The videos give a glimpse into the making of the TV anime series.
The videos released are:
- The Making of The Summer Hikaru Died: The Voice-Over (Part 2)
- The Making of The Summer Hikaru Died: The Voice-Over (Part 3)
- The Summer Hikaru Died Anime Expo 2025
The first video dives straight into the recording studio and contains interviews with Chiaki Kobayashi, Shunichiro Umeda, and director Ryohei Takeshita. It also examines some of the dialect coaching the voice actors received.
The third part of the Voice-Over series focuses on a conversation between Chiaki Kobayashi (who plays Yoshiki) and Shunichiro Umeda (who plays Hikaru). It also includes special footage of the recording of Episode 7’s insert song.
The final video showcases Chiaki Kobayashi from Anime Expo 2025, detailing his appearance on stage at the anime’s special panel.
