AEW Collision Recap – 9/13/2025

By Jen RozenSeptember 13, 2025
AEW Collision Recap

It’s Saturday, and you know what that means!!! AEW Collision is back to give us a great show! This is the last show for the 3-week 2300 Arena residency. So, let’s get right into our AEW Collision Recap!

Ian Riccaboni started off the show with MJF. He went on and on about how ‘great’ he is. Thank goodness I was saved when Mark Briscoe showed up on the screen to interrupt him. Mark announced the stipulation: tables and thumbtacks! Of course, this was all a ruse because Mark was right behind him! He tried to give MJF a Jay Driller onto the thumbtacks, but he slithered away. Well, count me in! I’m invested!

Lexi was backstage with Paragon and Hologram. Kyle was upset about Danny joining the dark side, so Paragon is going to teach him a lesson later tonight!

Here are the brackets for the AEW Unified Championship Tournament below:

For the first match in that tournament, we have Konosuke Takeshita vs Anthony Bowens:

Bowens was in peak physical form. I liked the arm trap neck breaker he executed on Takesoup. Anthony successfully attempted a crossbody from the top rope. What a nasty-looking swinging neckbreaker. I’ve never seen him have so much intensity in a singles match before. He even performed his finishing move, The Mollywop, but Takeshita brilliantly tumbled out of the ring. Cinnabon did a great job absorbing all of Bowen’s offense and finished him off with a Raging Fire. We all knew that Takeshita was going to win…but a certain payoff was coming up soon…

After the match, a vignette that featured Mascara Dorada appeared. He vowed to take down Beast Mortos in the upcoming AEW Unified Tournament next week in September to Remember’s 3-hour special, Dynamite. It was so nice to hear him cut a promo. I’m glad that AEW allows foreign wrestlers to cut promos in their native language. It comes off as authentic and gives them more depth to their character. That match is going to slap!

The second match was the $500K 5-on-5 Collision women’s match between Jamie Hayter, Tayjay, and Harley Cameron vs Triangle of Madness, Megan Bayne, and Penelope Ford.

Lexi gave us some insight into the ongoing tension between Jamie Hayter and Kris Statlander. Both are in contention to face Toni Storm and Thekla at All Out. I love me some tension in the air! Toni is so thirsty for Anna Jay’s peachy bottom. I am not at all surprised. Tay Melo had great-looking gear, too, and quite frankly, I’m glad TayJay were back at it tonight, as they’ve been off TV the last few weeks!

Bayne and Penelope connected with some great combination moves, which definitely paint them as favorites for the inevitable women’s tag team championship tournament that’s coming. Megan vs Hayter is a match I would love to see in the future. Thekla pinned Anna Jay with a spear, and then…

…things broke down after the match. Mina Shirakawa arrived with an ice cooler, while Queen Aminata followed suit with a spatula?! It turns out that there’s going to be a match next week for a 4-on-4 women’s tornado tailgate brawl next Saturday. Toni got festive and entered the fray with a cross-body. Thekla attempted a spear on Toni but countered with a Storm Zero. Things are heating up nicely for ALL OUT!

…granted, it’s not Anarchy in the Arena or Blood & Guts, but we can be patient a LITTLE longer…Tony Khan…

Max Caster issued another challenge. Who can survive 5 with the best wrestler alive? It looked like Big Bill could. He spent the whole match toying with Caster while calling out Eddie Kingston. Big Bill finished him off with a Bossman Slam. He grabbed the mic and continued to verbally harass The King of the Bums. Big Bill called his shot to meet him at ALL OUT. Would Eddie show up? We will have to wait and see…

Backstage, Lexi tried to interview Jerry Lynn and Anthony Bowens, but Max accidentally bumped him. Bowens took it personally and dragged him into the ring to beat him. Jerry took the mic and tried to talk some sense into both of them. Then we got a visit from The Swirl (Vanilla Baby Blake Christian, and Lee Johnson). They baited Jerry into a fight. It’s a good thing Max and Bowens (reluctantly) helped him out. The Acclaimed were back together…but only for a minute.

I won’t lie, I’m a little surprised THIS is the route they’re going. However, could they make it work? Well, everybody loves The Acclaimed, right?

Mistico was backstage with Lexi until MJF and Abraham Jon Cruz interrupted. MJF reminded Mistico of the beating he will give once they face each other next week at the CMLL 92nd Anniversary Show. That’s going to be an amazing show with hopefully some cool surprises!

The fourth match was a rematch between FTR vs Adam Priest and Tommy Billington. Their first showing was really good! Could they top that previous match, though?

I’ve noticed Billington and Priest had matching gear this time around. It looked like their game plan was to attack Dax’s injured arm and Cash’s hamstring. Dax countered their strategy with an avalanche suplex. Adam Priest looked impressive by putting together a string of offensive moves, but Cash opted to play dirty. These two young wrestlers have a lot of heart and tenacity. I loved the double flying headbutt. It looked like Cash had his fingers trapped in the ropes. Ouch! FTR ended up pinning Tommy with an assisted piledriver. What a hard-fought match.

We had a vignette with 6 tag teams (Top Flight, Josh Alexander and Hechicero, Kip Sabian and Killswitch, Jetspeed, Bang Bang Gang, Young Bucks) all vying for the AEW Tag Team Championships. Could this be a tease for a future tournament? Oh, please make it so. UPDATE: There will be a 4-way ladder match at ALL OUT for the Tag Team Championships! This card is STACKED!!!

The fifth match was another AEW Unified Tournament match between Michael Oku vs. “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada. Please, Michael, don’t die. I’m a bit distracted by one fan screaming their lungs out. Oku’s Fosbury Flop is a thing of beauty. OMG, Oku was drop-kicked off the top rope to the barricade. Didn’t I remind Oku earlier not to die? I am impressed with his athleticism. Oku hates his neck. Okada finished him with a Rainmaker. After the match, Takeshita comes out to remind Okada whose the real Alpha. Hyped!

The final match was with Paragon vs Moxley and the new Death Rider, Danny Garcia.

Let’s see how Danny adjusts to his new faction. Danny changed his look with just sneakers and black shorts. This will take me a while to get used to. Marina’s wingtips are getting longer and longer by the week. Paragon started out hot by looking like a better team, but Danny and Mox targeted Kyle’s hamstring. Poor hammy. Danny was still getting used to wrestling dirty. Roddy tagged in and delivered a great deal of rampage. Danny finished Kyle with a Dragon Tamer. The show finished with some built-up tension between Danny and Daddy Magic.

So, there you have it, folks. What moments did you like on the show? Let your thoughts on our AEW Collision Recap below!
