Capcom Reveals Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection for Consoles and PC

Monster Hunter Stories 3 - Twisted Reflection Header

During today’s Nintendo Direct, Capcom revealed the next chapter in the Monster Hunter Stories series. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

In this new entry, players once again step into the role of a Rider, raising Monsties and forging bonds while journeying through a world filled with danger and discovery. The story takes place two hundred years after a war that divided two kingdoms. When twin Rathalos hatch from a single egg, an event thought impossible, it sets into motion a tale of forbidden lands and twisted destinies.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection expands on the series’ unique blend of exploration, creature bonding, and strategic turn-based combat. Players can collect and nurture Monsties from across the Monster Hunter universe, forming powerful teams to battle alongside. Stylized 3D visuals bring the adventure to life, while the sweeping narrative explores themes of conflict, kinship, and discovery across generations and kingdoms. And from what I’ve seen from the video, it looks like there’s been some tweaks to the combat system as well.

Personally, this is one of my most anticipated games of 2026, and that’s saying something. When the first Monster Hunter Stories launched, I skipped over it, despite being a longtime fan of the mainline series. But just recently, I decided to fire up Monster Hunter Stories 2 on my ROG Ally X, and I was hooked for hours without realizing it. I hadn’t even remembered buying the game, but I quickly discovered how much I enjoyed its turn-based RPG approach, which cleverly flips the traditional Monster Hunter formula on its head.

If you haven’t given the series, but enjoy Monster Hunter and RPGs, then you really should.

More info on the game will be released soon, maybe during the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2025.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launches on March 13, 2026. Now I just need to finish Monster Hunter Stories 2 before then.
