Mega Malamar Debuts In New Set of Pokemon Legends Z-A Trailers

It will take over your mind! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
By Todd BlackSeptember 10, 2025
Pokemon Legends Z-A, Mega Malamar

One of the things that Pokemon Legends Z-A has been doing to build up to its October release is showing off special trailers debuting the new Mega Evolved pokemon that the game will have. We’ve already seen ones for Victreebel and Hawlucha, and today, we finally got the trailer for Mega Malamar. The twist here is that The Pokémon Company truly leaned into the “horrifying powers” that this Pokémon has, doing a special “campaign” for “My Friend Malamar” to show off how it’s never afraid to use hypnosis to bend people to its will.

They leaned into that further with the first reveal trailer for Mega Malamar, where the people of Lumiose City were revealed via a “special report” to have been mind-controlled by the pocket monster. You can check out the trailer below:

If you need even more proof of how haunting the Pokémon can be, check out the in-game trailer that Pokemon Legends Z-A dropped, where it shows off how the Pokémon hypnotized its own trainer to have nothing but Malamars on its squad!!!

As you can see, we are all doomed, and that doom will arrive on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 16th.
