A demo for Digimon Story Time Stranger has officially been announced, giving fans an early chance to dive into the upcoming RPG before launch.

The demo lets players experience the entire opening section of the main game. Even better, save data from the demo will carry over to the full version, so your progress won’t go to waste. That means you can get a head start on the adventure, build out your team, and even befriend plenty of Digimon before the official release.

Here’s when you can get your hands on the Digimon Story Time Stranger demo!

  • PC (Steam): September 10, 2025, at 3:00 PM PT / 6:00 PM EDT
  • PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S: September 11, 2025 at 12:00 AM local time (midnight)

In addition to the story content, the demo also features a separate mode where you can freely explore Central Town, offering a taste of the game’s world outside of battles and story events.

Recently, we had the opportunity to go hands-on with Digimon Story Time Stranger during PAX West 2025, for four hours during a preview session. Our impressions covered gameplay systems, story elements, and what makes this new Digimon entry stand out. Be sure to check out our full preview for all the details.

Digimon Story Time Stranger is the latest entry in the Digimon Story saga, developed by Media.Vision, the same developer who worked on Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. The game blends traditional monster-taming RPG elements with fresh mechanics and next-gen polish.

You play as an agent of ADAMAS, and yes, you get to pick the agent, that is tasked with investigating strange anomalies, only to be catapulted eight years into the past, unraveling the mystery threatening both the human and Digital Worlds. For Digimon fans, the game will feature over 450 recruitable Digimon, which can be digivolved to create even stronger, loveable digital monsters.

Digimon Story Time Stranger will be released on October 3, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam)
