Pokemon Legends Z-A Debuts Next Mega Evolution In Multi-Trailer Style!

The King of the Poke-Ring!
By Todd BlackAugust 28, 2025
Pokemon Legends Z-A

From pretty much its first trailer, Pokemon Legends Z-A highlighted that Mega Evolutions were coming back, and as time went on, The Pokemon Company started to drop teasers about which Pokemon would be able to transform into new versions for the upcoming Switch/Switch 2 title. The first Pokémon to get the “tap” was Dragonite. The second was Victreebel. For No.3, which just so happens to be my lucky number, we’re getting a Mega Evolution for the incredible Hawlucha!!! Just as cool, though, is that The Pokémon Company dropped not one but TWO trailers to show this Mega-Evolved form in action.

The first one that you can see below is a full-on animated cinematic featuring Hawlucha going up against a Machamp. Not unlike many other Hawlucha in the Pokémon world, this one loves reveling in the praise of the crowd, and it almost costs it the match against Machamp. But, after fully appreciating the bond it has with its trainer, it Mega Evolves, and…well, just watch for yourself!

Can the bond between Hawlucha and its Trainer be enough to take down the formidable Machamp? One thing is for sure—when these two strong Fighting-type Pokémon enter the ring, fists will fly! 🤜💥🤛#PokemonLegendsZA pic.twitter.com/LntRyhMwh8

Personally, I love this Mega Evolution, and it’s my favorite of the trio so far. It speaks to the Luchador tradition that Hawlucha was inspired by, complete with a more stylized mask and “outfit.” There are many great Luchadors in the world, including current Ring of Honor World Champion Bandido, who had a big showing at AEW Forbidden Door this past Sunday.

Now, if you wish to see Mega Hawlucha in action within the Pokemon Legends Z-A game itself, you can check out this gameplay trailer below:

If we can expect more Mega Evolution trailers like these, then the rollout of reveals will continue to be quite grand indeed.
