Indie RPG Demonschool pushed back to November 2025 to dodge Silksong’s shadow

It looks like Demonschool, the stylish school life tactics RPG inspired by Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, and classic Italian horror films, is getting delayed once again. Originally set to launch on September 3, 2025, publisher Ysbryd Games has announced that the game will now release on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. However, this time around, this delay has nothing to do with polishing the game, but more along the lines of making sure that the game doesn’t get lost in the shuffle.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is dropping the very next day after Demonschool’s original launch date. Rather than risk the game being buried by all the attention on Silksong, Ysbryd is moving the release so Demonschool has its own moment. This is interesting, especially given that usually when this happens it’s to avoid an upcoming AAA or AA game, not an indie game. That tells you just how much weight Hollow Knight: Silksong has.

Ysbryd says the choice was not easy. The publisher admitted that 2025 has already been a brutal year for indie games, and going head-to-head with one of the most anticipated titles around would not help Demonschool. The team wants to make sure people see and talk about the game on its own terms.

While this is not the first delay for the title, Ysbryd insists it will be the last. Press already have Steam keys, and reviews were originally lined up for September. In the meantime, developer Necrosoft Games will take advantage of the extra time to add polish and expand the game. Features such as new endings and minigames that were once planned for a post-release patch will now be available at launch.

It may sting for fans who were ready to jump in, but the extra time should make the final release even stronger. On November 19, 2025, players will finally join Faye and her band of demon-hunting students for a semester like no other.
