To say that Hollow Knight Silksong has been “a long time coming” is actually an insult, because it’s been about seven years in the making, and it took until today for Team Cherry to finally reveal when the game would come out. During a special stream, the dev team showed off an all-new trailer, highlighting our new Knight and their journey to save a kingdom, and at the very end, it was shown that the game would drop on September 4th. Enjoy:
That alone would be enough of a news post, wouldn’t you say? However, Ari Gibson and William Pellen, co-founders of Team Cherry, talked with Bloomberg about the journey to get to this point, and they confirmed that, like its predecessor, Hollow Knight Silksong would have post-launch content, stating they have “big plans to add extra content to Silksong in the months and years to come.”
Gibson in particular noted that there was some “ambitious” stuff that Team Cherry wants to do with the content:
“The most interesting thing now is what can we add to it next. We got a plan. Admittedly, some of the plans for that stuff are kind of ambitious as well, but hopefully we can achieve some of it.”
No matter what, the game will be coming out soon. Plus, if you’re at PAX West, you can play it at the Nintendo booth!
