Could We Get The Next Luigi’s Mansion Game Soon For Switch 2?

The scaring of Luigi will likely never end...

As we keep noting on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, it’s truly difficult waiting for the next Nintendo Direct to arrive and highlight not only more information about the upcoming Switch 2 games coming in 2025, but also reveal what’s coming out in 2026. As such, we can do nothing more than speculate until that presentation happens. We’ve talked about “dormant” Nintendo franchises previously via ones like Star Fox, but how about we look at one that is very likely to happen on the new console? Specifically, let’s talk about Luigi’s Mansion!

This unlikely franchise was born on the GameCube, and gave players a unique scenario in which to play as Luigi, who has had to save Mario, Peach, and others from various ghosts in various places of dwelling. As Insider Stealth pointed out, the reason that it’s fair to think Luigi’s Mansion will be on the Switch 2 is that it’s been a big software-seller on each platform it’s been on:

I think Luigi's Mansion 4 for Switch 2 is what Next Level Games is working on right now. The series has grown exponentially with each entry:Luigi's Mansion: ~3.5 million copiesLuigi's Mansion 2 (includes HD): ~8.5 million copiesLuigi's Mansion 3: ~15 million copies

For context, there are certain “top-tier” Nintendo franchises that didn’t sell 15 million on the OG Switch, so the third game selling that much is pretty impressive. So, now, imagine what Next Level Games can do on the Switch 2 with better graphics and grander processing power! Lots of possibilities, wouldn’t you say?

What would YOU like to see from the 4th entry, and do you think it’ll be one of the potential 2026 Switch 2 titles? Let us know in the comments below!
