The Sirkay Saga, an original English light novel by the late J.G. Guinn (or Jay as he has been more commonly known by), has launched as an official fundraiser on Patreon by Reid Kemper, author of the Alpha Squad: Vecto light novel series. The fundraiser aims to support his significant other after Guinn’s passing left her with financial struggles.

The Sirkay Saga is part of the Alpha Squad universe alongside Kemper’s Vecto books. Kemper gave a little bit of history on how the Alpha Squad came together at a young age:
I was one of the founding members of the Alpha Squad when I was in the 6th grade in 1996, and I brought Jay on board when we were in the 10th grade. The leader of the group was called the “Alpha Director,” a position I held at the time and passed on to Jay. During his leadership, we wrote a lot about our stories, which were inspired by watching anime. Legend has it that Jay wrote 900 pages of the story. I presume it was lost when he was homeless.
Kemper is posting The Sirkay Saga on Patreon for those who wish to donate to the fundraiser and gain early access to the chapters before they are posted as a BitNovel on Wattpad and Royal Road. A BitNovel refers to a webnovel that is uploaded in bite-sized chunks. In The Sirkay Saga’s case, 1,000-word sections are being uploaded.
Any of the money raised through memberships on Patreon will go directly to Guinn’s significant other.
As of the time of this writing, four chapters were typed up and updated by the original author. Kemper is in the process of editing them with the third chapter slated for release this upcoming weekend (August 16/17). From there, Kemper plans to transcribe the remaining handwritten chapters, divide the story into books, and see Guinn’s work through to the very end.
The Sirkay Saga is described as follows:
Sirkay, who has telekinesis abilities, escapes the destruction of his family’s ship with an AI companion named Ashley. They crash land on Earth, and Sirkay meets a strong, cave-like woman named Narra, who becomes his love interest. Along the way, Sirkay gathers a crew for his ship called the Blue Bird and learns who is responsible for the destruction of his family’s ship, the Blue Jay. How far will Sirkay go to bring justice?
