IDW Sign Exclusive Deal with CoryxKenshin for Monsters We Make

By Josh PiedraAugust 11, 2025
IDW Publishing has announced an exclusive distribution deal with YouTube personality CoryxKenshin to bring his hit action-horror manga series, Monsters We Make, Vol 1, to North American shops and online retailers on October 28, 2025, starting with Vol 1. The self-published first installment of this series became a smashing success last fall selling more than 200,000 copies direct to consumers. The IDW print run will feature a new exclusive retail-only cover. Volumes 2 and 3, are set to release over the next year – both will debut via the creator’s DTC platform and each installment will feature an exclusive, retail-only cover. Link to preorder.
Monsters We Make
Driven by CoryxKenshin’s background and creative vision, Monsters We Make weaves a modern narrative that bridges Eastern and Western influences, honoring the rich heritage of Japanese manga while drawing from Western perspectives in storytelling. The manga stays true to its origins by following the traditional right-to-left reading format, taking the readers on a unique and immersive journey.
“Monsters We Make is a story that epitomizes the human experience – covering the highs and lows of life and humanity’s constant thirst for more – that touches on mature themes within an action/horror shonen skeleton, made by lifelong fans of the genre,” said creator CoryxKenshin.
“CoryxKenshin is a once-in-a-generation storyteller whose creative vision has inspired millions, and we’re honored to bring Monsters We Make to an even wider audience,” said Aub Driver, VP Marketing at IDW Publishing. “This partnership not only expands the reach of a groundbreaking manga series, but also represents the kind of bold, diverse, and globally resonant storytelling IDW is committed to championing.”
Monsters We Make Story Synopsis
For Jabari Booker, New Edyn Academy promised a future of music and mastery. But on his first day, that promise shatters into a nightmare. As he’s dragged deeper into the abyss, he realizes that true horror awaits at the end of the broken road. To survive, he must battle not only New Edyn’s monsters but also the corruption festering within its walls.

Monsters We Make, Vol. 1 will be available wherever books are sold on October 28, 2025 as a b/w trade paperback (ISBN: 9798992171143) for a list price of $11.99. For more information please visit IDW Publishing.
