The well-known leaker Billbil-kun has revealed the release date for the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally. According to this source, which is widely considered reliable, the two versions of the handheld will be available starting on October 16, 2025.
This is the only piece of information that has not been leaked yet regarding the project born from the collaboration between ASUS and Microsoft. Billbil-kun has already revealed the pre-order date, set for August 20, and the prices: €599 for the Xbox Ally and €899 for the Xbox Ally X.
Microsoft’s plan is to announce the handheld’s release date during Gamescom 2025 and open pre-orders at the same time. So, in a few days, we should get an official confirmation of these details.
In fact, an October launch for the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally had already been discussed by another leaker, eXtas1s, who was the first to mention this possibility. It seems it might really happen.
As we know, Xbox will be present at Gamescom 2025, and on August 20, 2025, it will air a presentation entirely dedicated to the new handhelds produced in collaboration with ASUS. Visitors to the Cologne fair will also be able to see and try them out.
Interestingly, according to recent rumors about Xbox’s future, the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally might actually become the portable console that everyone asked Microsoft for – a handheld PC with all the benefits that come with it, such as compatibility and performance.
