In case you missed it, last week, EA released details focused on changes and improvements to EA Sports FC 26 in two of the available game modes. Firstly, we got a deep dive into Clubs fka Pro Clubs, the online mode where you make a player join up with a group of friends to create a club and play matches online against other gamers. Curiously, these improvements and changes to Clubs didn’t get a YouTube video deep dive like we saw for the gameplay reveal. Instead, the details were released via Pitch Notes on the EA Website.
Here are just a few of the things you can expect from Clubs in EA FC 26:
- Archetypes – a new progression system, where you’ll be able to progress and develop 13 distinct player Archetypes, each inspired by an ICON of world football.
- Signature Perks – new on-pitch abilities designed to encourage you to embody your chosen Archetype or Specialization whenever you step on the pitch.
- Multiple Clubs – Gone are the days of needing to leave a club just to play with a different group of friends. In EA Sports FC 26, you can now play for up to three clubs at a time, switching between them in the Clubs menu.
These are just a few of the things that stood out to me about Clubs in EA FC 26. I’d highly recommend reading the Pitch Notes for even more details.
Just a few days after these details for Clubs were released, we received a second deep dive, this time focused on Career Mode. Personally, this is the deep dive I wait for every year, as Career Mode is my favourite way to play EA FC games, and thankfully, this deep dive came with a video.
As you can see in the deep dive above, several changes are coming to Career Mode in EA Sports FC 26. The question I found myself asking is how much difference will these changes make?
If you’re unable to watch the video, here’s a list of just a few of the changes coming to Career Mode in EA FC 26:
- Manager Market – AI Managers will finally be able to move clubs or be sacked for poor performances. You’ll also be able to track which managers are under pressure, just in case you fancy taking their job once they’ve been moved on.
- Unexpected Events – A new layer of dynamic narrative scenarios that can occur throughout your Career Mode experience. These events are designed to reflect the unpredictability of real-world football, where, as a manager, things don’t always go to plan.
- ICONs and Heroes – Last year saw the ability to play as several ICONs in Player Career Mode, something you’ll still be able to do in EA FC 26. However, ICONs and Heroes will now also be usable in Manager Career Mode.
These are only a few of the improvements coming to Career Mode in EA Sports FC 26. There are so many more, including changes to player careers, youth tournaments, and more. You can read all the details here.
Pre-orders are now available for EA SPORTS FC 26, which will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Amazon Luna, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. EA SPORTS FC 26 will be available worldwide to play on September 26, 2025, with early access through the Ultimate Edition beginning September 19, 2025.
