Bandai Namco released the gameplay trailer for the next fighter to make an appearance in Tekken 8. The Heel of Heels, Armor King comes in from the top rope. He’s got alot of tricks and moves at his disposal. This wrestler is still out for revenge. Without Murdock to show up yet, who is he going after?
Armor King’s new threads bring out the Berserk in the idea. It even comes with long hair on the end of the jaguar mask.
Nearly every hit that Armor King delivers has his insignia appear. Armor King keeps his green mist, but at the same time, it can be used as a stun in several places. His Rage Art goes fully WWF and brings out the ring. Thanks to this, he even gets access to a chair for the pain. Armor King even has a move that engulfs his hand to dish out flame with the pain.
Enter Miary Zo
The new character, Miary Zo, from Madagascar, will be joining the King of the Iron Fist Tournament for Tekken 8. The look does resemble a bit of Capoeira user Christie Montero from Tekken 4 at first glance.
It’s not like Tekken has not ever had protégés or rivals of similar styles show face in games. Taekwon Do practitioners Baek Dosan and Haowrang are a definite example of this, with Baek being a mid-boss character on his first run(and one of my favorites back in Tekken 2). Who is she, and what brings her to Tekken?
Miary Zo is a practitioner of a bare knuckle style called Moraingy, as well as other African Martial Arts. Tekken Project Producer Katsuhiro Harada had visited Madagascar in order to help with research for the new character as well as connect with the Tekken community there. Miary Zo comes with a scenery called Baobob Horizon as a stage.
Armor King comes to Tekken 8 on October 16th, but Season Pass holders get the heel 3 days earlier. Miary Zo will be the final character of the season before the potential Year 3 starts.
Tekken 8 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
