During the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, Capcom officially revealed Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection dives into a darker and more dramatic narrative, focusing on two nations teetering on the brink of war. The lands of Azuria and Vermeil are facing devastation from a mysterious crystal encroachment, threatening to wipe out both humans and monsters. When a strange egg is discovered, hope momentarily returns, until the egg hatches, revealing not one, but two Rathalos. The twin Rathalos share the same mark as the legendary Skyscale Rathalos, symbols of destruction tied to a civil war that raged 200 years ago. As tensions rise and the world’s balance crumbles, a new war looms on the horizon.
Players will step into the role of the heir to Azuria, who is destined to lead the Rangers and serve as the kingdom’s sole Rathalos Rider. Their journey begins with the mission to protect monsters and investigate a mysterious phenomenon tied to egg quartz, but a shocking event forces them to travel into the forbidden lands beyond the northern Meridian in search of answers.
Along the way, they are joined by Eleanor, princess of Vermeil, who offers herself as a symbolic hostage to Azuria in hopes of calming the brewing conflict. Accompanied by her loyal Monstie Anjanath, Eleanor sets out to uncover the hidden motives of her sister, the Queen of Vermeil. Together, the pair confront an uncertain future as they navigate an ever-growing shadow of catastrophe.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will release in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
