CyberAgent, Inc., a leader in digital entertainment and innovative media in Japan, announced today that the TV anime “The Summer Hikaru Died”—co-produced by CyberAgent and KADOKAWA—will begin officially streaming on bilibili, one of China’s largest video distribution platforms, from July 29, 2025.
“The Summer Hikaru Died” is a coming-of-age horror story that follows high school student Yoshiki, whose life is turned upside down when a mysterious entity takes the form of his childhood friend Hikaru and begins living beside him. As mysterious events begin to unfold around them, Yoshiki is forced to confront a deeply unsettling truth in this haunting series.
The anime began streaming globally on Netflix and on the platform ABEMA within Japan on July 5, 2025. It is also broadcast nationwide in Japan on the Nippon TV station.
