When the rebooted Mortal Kombat film franchise came around during the pandemic, expectations were high. The results were…a bit mixed, but it had some good elements. The question was, how would they make it better the second time around? Today, the official trailer for Mortal Kombat II dropped, and we get to see much of what we wanted: the tournament.
Oh, and Johnny Cage played by Karl Urban. He’s basically the star of the whole film! Don’t believe me? Just watch the trailer, he’s the focus for much of it.
A key thing that the trailer shows is all the new characters from the game that we’ll see. Shao Khan, Jade, Baraka, Kitana, Sindel, and even Noob Saibot gets some love in the trailer! Also, the previous film’s protagonist, Cole Young, gets some time, too, making you wonder what his role in everything will be.
It’s clear October will be a big month for films, so check out the Mortal Kombat II trailer below and be ready for battle when the time comes.
