Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & The White Guardian Gets System Overview Trailer

Koei Tecmo America released a brand new trailer for Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & The White Guardian. This trailer is meant to give a full overview of the game’s systems. This one focuses on the system mechanics behind the game rather than just a full overview. The last trailer got me super excited for this entry! Lets hope this one continues the hype train.

Exploration

Field exploration is the first system the trailer dives into. You can walk anywhere on the field. There is a time and weather system in place for the locations. Different characters have different abilities in the field. You will need to switch to other characters to get over a variety of obstacles. Like in other Atelier games, the exploration equipment you make through synthesis will be important. If you have exploration equipment on your character equipped, then when you find resources that use them in the field, your character will automatically use them.

The next thing shown in the trailer is the multi-dimensional dungeons. These dungeons change terrain per floor. Each terrain change has a variety of different resources you can gather and collect. Higher difficulty dungeons have higher level quality resources.

Battle

Battle is the next section shown in the Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & The White Guardian trailer. The effect panels that show up in combat, when compared to the action order, will give you advantages or disadvantages. You can have the back line activate items or effects to get your other characters down in the action order and grab more positive effects. You activate strong abilities by filling up the Unite gauge in combat.

Synthesis

The next section of the trailer deals with the lifeblood of the Atelier series, Alchemy and Synthesis. Matching colors to effects while synthesizing gives you extra effects and abilities. Even using the same ingredients in different locations will change how an item is created. The more characters you have helping out in synthesis, the better the quality and level of the item made. The Synthesis system seems like the thing that was brought over from Atelier Resleriana’s gacha game. In that game, too, the more characters you had, the better the item was. The color and rarity of the item also added different effects to the outcome.

Shop Management

The last section in the system trailer for Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & The White Guardian deals with shop management. If you display an item that has a linked color shown on the shop it receives a bonus when sold. You assign fairies to the upkeep of the store. These fairies take stamina to assign. The money you earn from the shop helps you restore the town of Halfein. Restoring the town of Halfein also progresses the game’s story.

Ryza shows up for a split second in the trailer, which means she will be in the game. Whether she is playable or not is not confirmed, though. If you were sad to see Ryza not in the game in the last trailer, now we know Ryza is around.

Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & The White Guardian will be released September 26th, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
