Did Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s Follow-Up Just Get Teased

Hal Labs is up to something!

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Innovation in the video game space isn’t always something that’s guaranteed. We see it all the time with developers and publishers who look at what they have and attempt to replicate it solely so they can “make more money with what works” versus striving to make the best game possible.

However, there are some who do like innovation and changing things up, and Hal Labs proved that in the Nintendo Switch era with Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The game (read my review!) changed the formula of Kirby’s franchise entirely and offered up new ways to have fun.

We know that Kirby and the Forgotten Land is getting a Nintendo Switch 2 boost later this year, but Hal Labs recently posted a blog that caught our eye. Check out this snippet below:

Kirby Developer Hal Labs revealed they recently had a team drawing session.According to Designer Yonekawa, it was training to continue thinking flexibly and freely without being trapped by such ideas as "it has to be like this" or "this should be good."www.hallab.co.jp/blog/detail/…

If we take this at face value, it could be that the team is pushing themselves to make the next Kirby game even further into new directions than Forgotten Land did. Of course, that’s speculation. Maybe we could be getting a new game, or maybe not. We’ll have to wait and see.
