Prior Everdark Sovereigns Return in Elden Ring Nightreign, New Ones Announced

By Keith MitchellJuly 8, 2025
Elden Ring Nightreign - Current Everdark Sovereign bosses

For the past few weeks, Elden Ring Nightreign players have been facing off against revamped versions of familiar terrors, known as the Everdark Sovereigns, and it’s been brutal and fun learning the new strategies. So far, we’ve battled through enhanced renditions of the Gaping Jaw, Darkdrift Knight, and most recently, the Sentient Pest. These aren’t just re-skins. They hit harder, and bring new pain to even the most seasoned players.

However, many players either couldn’t defeat these bosses before they were rotated out or missed them entirely. Thankfully, Bandai Namco has announced a new schedule, confirming that these Everdark Sovereigns will return as part of an ongoing Everdark Cycle — a new recurring event meant to give players another shot at conquering these twisted monsters. What’s more, instead of having one boss to tackle, the original Everdark Sovereign bosses will be selectable in pairs.

Here’s the upcoming Everdark Sovereign rotation

  • July 10 – July 17: Gaping Jaw & Darkdrift Knight
  • July 17 – July 24: Sentient Pest & Darkdrift Knight
  • July 24 – July 31: Gaping Jaw & Sentient Pest

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware aren’t stopping there. They’ve also teased four new Everdark Sovereigns coming soon:

  • Everdark Sovereign Tricephalos
  • Everdark Sovereign Augur
  • Everdark Sovereign Equilibrious Beast
  • Everdark Sovereign Fissure in the Fog

While we don’t have a confirmed schedule yet for when these abominations will arrive, their inclusion is official. Judging by the name alone, we’re expecting some real chaos, and hopefully a few new surprises in Limveld.

That said, it’s a bit disappointing that no brand-new boss will be showing up this week (July 10) like many of us were expecting. Still, the return of past Everdark bosses gives everyone a chance to catch up before the next wave of horror drops.

Elden Ring Nightreign is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. And may I add that I might be playing perhaps a bit too much with nearly 400 hours clocked since the game was released. Send help!
