Who could’ve imagined when The Boys was first announced for Amazon Prime that it wouldn’t just become a smash hit, but it would arguably be one of the most important streaming shows of its era? The series was initially just a dark satire of what superhero comics and movies had become. Yet, thanks to the guidance of showrunner Eric Kripke, it became a mirror to our own world, and even predicted dark events before they even happened. With Season 5, the main series is coming to an end, and its showrunner highlighted its end on Instagram.
Specifically, he revealed that The Boys has finished filming. He was there for the last day on set, and while he’s sad to see it go, he knows that the show has had a great run and that a great finale awaits everyone.
