Nintendo Employee Count Is Now At Over…

...IT'S OVER 8000!!!

Nintendo Confirms No Use of Generative AI for First-Party Games, Gamecom

In truth, after hearing about all the layoffs from Xbox yesterday, you almost have to wonder if this is the fate of others in the gaming industry, especially with so many companies and developers focusing on getting profits over making great titles. However, like in recent years, Nintendo is the one that continues to be that “light in the darkness,” even with those trying to throw serious shade on it. The latest piece of news of The Big N’s greatness doesn’t involve an upcoming game or console sales numbers, but the employee count of the company.

Insider Stealth took a look at Nintendo’s “investor website,” and it revealed how the company has grown massively since the Wii U era. As you’ll see, they’ve grown nearly every year:

Nintendo's investor website provided updated employee counts2014 – 5,213 (+133)2015 – 5,120 (-93)2016 – 5,064 (-56)2017 – 5,166 (+102)2018 – 5,501 (+335) 2019 – 5,944 (+443)2020 – 6,200 (+256)2021 – 6,574 (+374)2022 – 6,717 (+143)2023 – 7,317 (+600)2024 – 7,726 (+407)2025 – 8,205 (+481)

Yes, Nintendo has 8,200+ people working for them, which is just under what Xbox laid off yesterday. Furthermore, given the sales of Mario Kart World and the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s unlikely that the company will stop its “growth spurt” anytime soon. So take heart, not everything is bad, and there are some developers and publishers who are still doing things the right way.
