Did Nintendo Help Make Death Stranding 2 On The Beach?

You must give credit where it's due!

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Review

Nintendo has proven over the years that it’s not afraid to work with other developers/publishers on products, or bring them in to help make new entries in its lauded franchises. You might recall Capcom working on Legend of Zelda, SEGA doing F-Zero, and non-affiliated teams like Mercury Steam and Grezzo working on Metroid and Zelda, respectively.

Yet, today, it was revealed the gaming outlet, VGC, that Death Stranding 2 On The Beach was worked on by Nintendo. …wait, how does that work? Ironically, it’s via a group of theirs that you might have forgotten about.

The group in question is Nintendo Pictures, which was purchased by The Big N back when they were Dynamo Pictures. Specifically, they are a “CG animation and motion capture company” in Japan that works on various projects both for Nintendo and others.

They apparently worked on the first Death Stranding game, so it would make sense that Hideo Kojima Productions would bring them back. And before you say, “Doesn’t this mean that Death Stranding 2 On The Beach is coming to the Switch 2?” that’s not a guarantee for multiple reasons.

As noted, Nintendo Pictures has worked for “others” outside of Nintendo, including anime that has nothing to do with The Big N. So, while cool, we shouldn’t expect a big Hideo Kojima game on Nintendo Switch 2…for now.
