A New Exhibit Is Coming To The Nintendo Museum

By Todd BlackJune 25, 2025

There are times I wish I could go around the world on a whim, especially with this heat wave that’s going on. But one of the places I’d love to visit more than anything is Japan, especially Kyoto, where lots of awesome things are. One such “awesome thing” is the Nintendo Museum. This place, the brainchild of the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto, is home to numerous “artifacts” of Nintendo’s long, LONG history. Seriously, they did a lot of things before settling into the gaming industry. Trust me on that one.

Anyway, the point of this place was to highlight the journey that Nintendo took over the years and the incredible things that were made along the way. Plus, there are spots to relax, play games, and more. Now, though, a new exhibit will open up on the museum’s second floor, and it has to do with art:

The Nintendo Museum announced they will be opening an art gallery on the second floor of the Museum.

It opens on September 3rd.

Doesn’t that sound cool? Diehard gamers know that developers and publishers often did custom artwork for their titles to make things “pop” and to get people talking. Not to mention, be on magazine covers! As for concept art, Nintendo and many others have evolved their characters and worlds over the years until they became the “more refined versions” that everyone pictures. So seeing that progression in one place would be really cool.

So, if you’re near the Nintendo Museum or plan to go to Japan after September 3rd, be sure to check out the art gallery!
