Wait, How Is Metroid Prime 4 Beyond “Out Now?”

Did we miss something?

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond
You have no idea how long I've waited for this!

Look, we’ve been waiting for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond since 2017! That’s when the first teaser trailer for the game dropped, and fans have been all but frothing at the mouth to get their hands on it, especially after last year when we FINALLY got some gameplay footage from it. However, while it’s been officially labeled as “2025” for its release date, the game isn’t out yet for either the Nintendo Switch or the Switch 2. So why is there a banner in the UK that claims otherwise…?

Yeah, these multiple pictures of the banners make it clear that these aren’t fake images. These are real advertisements for the Switch 2, its games, and even its accessories. It’s very much “grass roots marketing” because it’s in a train station, where a lot of people will see it every day. So, again, what’s going on? Did Nintendo shadow-drop Metroid Prime 4 Beyond like they did the Metroid Prime Remaster, and we just missed it? Well…no. Apparently, this was just a “snafu,” as noted by another set of looks at the banners in question:

"However, we also spotted a similar Mario Kart World poster alongside it, seen below, featuring the same ‘Out Now’ message.

It’s therefore likely that whoever created the ads copied the template over for the Metroid Prime 4 ad and forgot to remove the ‘Out Now’ part."… pic.twitter.com/BwT4LB97iu

…oops. To be fair, it is a simple mistake to make, especially if you’re just a person “doing your job” and don’t know all the details about when the games are coming out and such. So, yeah, a harmless mistake. Granted, we’d LOVE for the game to be out now, especially after the epic Direct we just got for Donkey Kong Bananza (which took up a lot of time on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast this week…), but it’s better for things to be spaced out.

Hopefully, though, we will get a new look at the game and get a release date for it soon.
