Lies of P: Overture Sells 3 Million Copies in Just Two Weeks, Patch 1.9 Brings Key Updates

By Keith MitchellJune 20, 2025
Lies of P Overture - 3 million copies sold

Less than two weeks after surprising fans with a shadowdrop during Summer Game Fest 2025, Lies of P: Overture has already sold over 3 million copies — and that’s no small feat. Developer ROUND8 Studio and publisher NEOWIZ have a lot to celebrate, and to mark the occasion, they’ve dropped a new patch to tweak the experience just a bit more.

Game Director Jiwon Choi shared his thanks to the community, stating:

“I want to thank everyone who has joined us thus far in our journey through Lies of P and the recently released Lies of P: Overture. 3 million copies sold is a huge feat, and our teams at ROUND8 and Team NOUGH are blown away by the reception since our shadowdrop reveal at Summer Game Fest.”

Alongside the milestone announcement, Patch v1.9 is now live and brings a few notable changes for players diving back in, or just getting started on a fresh run. Here’s what it includes:

  • DLC Access Earlier: From your second playthrough onward, DLC content is now available starting in Chapter 5 at the “Path of the Pilgrim.”
  • Tweaked Monster Difficulty: Enemies in NG+ have been slightly nerfed. Field monster stats in the DLC are also adjusted to be a bit more balanced for first-time players.

While this is a small patch, it shows that ROUND8 is continuing to fine-tune the experience and respond to community feedback, and honestly, that’s always great to see.

As someone who’s played more Soulslikes than I care to admit, Lies of P has been one of my favorites since it first launched. A good story, enjoyable combat, and a breath of fresh air in a genre that often struggles to do something new. Here’s hoping the team keeps that momentum going.
