During Summer Game Fest, Kojima Productions held an event for the upcoming Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. At this event, we received confirmation that the game’s soundtrack would be arriving soon. Just a few hours ago, the album by French musician and director WOODKID for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach finally hit streaming services. It’s also available for purchase in some places, though so far, I’ve only found links to pre-order the vinyl, which isn’t shipping until a later date.
I’ve been listening to the album on repeat since it dropped, and I have to say, it’s fantastic. It’s only a sample of the full soundtrack created for the game—16 tracks to be exact—but it whets the appetite nicely. The mix of electronic and acoustic sounds throughout the album is excellent, offering a striking contrast both between tracks and within them. This is the kind of approach that wouldn’t suit every game or album, but it works perfectly here. It just fits Death Stranding 2.
With music playing such a crucial role in the original Death Stranding, it’s safe to assume the same will be true for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. What I find interesting is how this new album seems to mirror everything we’ve heard about the game so far. The soundscape feels more varied than the first game’s soundtrack—not necessarily better or worse, just different. It echoes how the previews for Death Stranding 2 have described the gameplay experience as having more variety and options than the original.
I don’t know exactly how each track will be used in-game yet, but the track titles do give us some clues. Here’s the full list:

Some of these tracks clearly reference specific characters, while others are still a mystery. I can’t wait to discover how they’ll be used when I play Death Stranding 2: On The Beach for review.
One thing this album doesn’t reveal is what licensed music we might hear throughout the game. I’m sure there will be some, though LOW ROAR’s contributions to the original Death Stranding will be hard to top when it comes to licensed tracks.
Of the bespoke music we have so far, three tracks really stand out to me: Black Drift, Story Of Rainy, and Asphalt Maelstrom. Each offers something unique, and they feel especially distinctive in tone and vibe.
