Splatoon Raiders Announced By Nintendo + Splatoon 3 Update!

It's a whole new game to play!
By Todd BlackJune 10, 2025
Splatoon Raiders, Splatoon 3

One of the more ironic things with the Nintendo Switch 2, since its “countdown to launch” began, was that there are some people who claim that the console “doesn’t have games. Even though it launched with Mario Kart World and we’re about 5 weeks away from Donkey Kong Bananza. Admittedly, many gamers, including myself, do hope a Nintendo Direct arrives soon so that we can get a better picture of the 2025/2025 software release schedule. However, true to its nature, The Big N pulled a fast one and not only dropped a big Splatoon 3 update reveal, but also announced Splatoon Raiders!

In the trailer below, we see that Deep Cut is out hunting for the answer behind “a new rumor” that has led them to the Spirhalite Islands. However, upon arrival, they crash land there due to a “strange glow,” and they soon meet a “mechanic” that the players will control in the title. The name “Splatoon Raiders” is curious, as it implies an entirely different gameplay style than in the campaigns and DLC that we’ve played so far. Plus, we get a robot companion! How cool is that? The game is a Switch 2 exclusive, so hopefully we’ll get more details on it soon.

As for Splatoon 3, it’s getting its Version 10 update on the 12th, and it’ll include a new classic stage returning to the mix, while also granting new weapons and clothes to wear!

So, it appears Nintendo heard our cries and gave us something to look forward to in both the short-term and the long-term.
