Capcom revealed the next 4 World Warriors to come out to play in the Street Fighter VI mythos. Ingrid, Sagat, C. Viper, and Alex will be the next 4 characters to join Street Fighter VI. Wrestler Kenny Omega helped usher in the next batch of characters for the next update.
Ingrid is a character from the title of Capcom Fighting Evolution. Her inclusion was from the ill-fated original project, Capcom Fighting All-Stars allowed her to pass through to other titles such as Street Fighter Alpha 3. The character is noted to be another Psycho Power adept capable of rivaling the likes of Rose. Her mysterious origin and her reason for being are always a question. Why did she go back into the past? Her abilities seem not to be something to question because of her stature.
The secret agent C. Viper was first introduced in Street Fighter IV with a couple of cameos post Seth’s defeat and the fall of SIN. C. Viper attempted to connect the war on Shadowloo with the CIA on another level compared to Guile’s grudge. The woman’s got gadgets for her fighting style, which is as tricky as her very allegiance. C. Viper is a complex character archetype with more risk to win sets with.
Alex became the de facto main character of the Street Fighter III series. The grappler dismantled the Illuminati and gained a rival in the form of Final Fight’s Hugo. His Machine Gun Headbutt. Perhaps Hugo’s motivation this time lies within the Mad Gear Gang veteran. Coincidentally, Alex and Ingrid were also in Capcom Fighting All-Stars.
You can’t keep a good champion down. What motivates Sagat to continue his quest to be that champion again? Scarred by Ryu in the first-ever World Warrior tournament, the Muay Thai fighter hasn’t missed many run-ins against Ryu or even his former Shadowloo cohorts. Hints of his return were apparent in Bison’s World Tour run. Sagat received an install to obtain powerful moves, a point to his chest scar glow, and his actual tiger friend in Street Fighter V.
In the trailer, it seems as though Sagat might be the first character of the batch to get himself into Street Fighter VI. His stage seems to be coming as part of his DLC run. As to when he’ll be available to start the show, it doesn’t seem to be noted yet. If history repeats itself, Sagat might not be too far along. M. Bison coincidentally appeared in June last year to kick off Year 2. Elena just came out to the Street Fighter VI title this year.
