Sega has revealed more details on the new Sonic racing game at Summer Games Fest 2025, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Namely, the additional characters you will be able to play as. Showing off more characters from the Sonic universe, like characters from Sonic Riders like Storm, Jet, and Wave. But continuing in the spirit of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, they are bringing in all SEGA IPs. Hatsune Miku of Vocaloid fame, Ichiban Kasuga of Like Dragon, and Joker from Persona 5 will be appearing as playable characters to join the race.
So see Joker with Sonic and Ichiban racing along with Vocaloid Hatsune Miku on the race track. If you are a fan of SEGA IP’s, then this racing game is bringing the service. Naturally, we can expect more Sega characters to appear, like Ai Ai from Super Monkey Ball, and other characters as details continue to be revealed. Now, where is my Skies of Arcadia representation?! Also at the end, Minecraft Steve, Alex, and Creeper will also be making an appearance. To commemorate this guest appearance, a new promo art was released.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be releasing on all major consoles for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC on Steam and Epic Games, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025.
