Front Mission 3 Remake Release Date Announced

By Kevin KellyMay 29, 2025
front mission 3

Front Mission 3 will be coming to Nintendo Switch on June 26th for $34.99 / €34.99. The 1999 Squaresoft Turn-Based Strategy classic is getting a paint job thanks to Megapxel Studio and Forever Entertainment. Although the game had a preview at Tokyo Game Show 2024 in a different state, it underwent some changes during that time.

The Tactical RPG classic returns! FRONT MISSION 3: Remake is the third chapter in the iconic series beloved by fans worldwide. Step into the role of Kazuki and Ryogo as tensions rise across volatile military zones. With the fate of the region hanging in the balance, command towering Wanzers and lead your squad through intense, turn-based battles.

  • Two Different Engaging Storylines – Dive into two immersive storylines defined by your choices in the game, each offering unique perspectives and challenges.
  • Improved Graphics and Animations – Enjoy remade visuals and smoother animations suited to modern needs.
  • Reorchestrated Music – Immerse yourself in a new approach to a classic soundtrack.
  • Wanzers’ Camo Customization – Personalize your Wanzers with new customizable camouflage options for a unique battlefield look.
  • New Quick Combat Mode – Jump straight into the action with the fast-paced battle mode.

The mecha …err, wanzer game Front Mission 3 does a lot of interesting things to the series. Some improvements include  = a morale system for characters and enemy opponents that could possibly eject them from battle. The Pilot Eject system allows characters to commandeer vehicles mid-battle, fight on foot, and salvage complete enemy Wanzers after fights. This was the first title in the series to utilize CGI cutscenes for more gripping storytelling. Front Mission 3 expands upon the series’ own in-game Internet system from the previous game to find information or buy hard-to-get wanzer weaponry. If the last few remakes are an indication of what comes next, this might be the well-thought-out entry in the trilogy resurrection.

It’s expected that other systems will be getting this title, and a physical will be released.
