Mario Kart World Has Unique Title Screen

Want to start roaming? Okay!

As we just talked about on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, Nintendo has plenty of hope for Mario Kart World being the “right title” to kick off the Nintendo Switch 2 cycle. They feel that, between how well the last game did on the OG Switch and the “accessibility” element of the game, many gamers will resonate with it and want to play with friends. Today, Nintendo revealed the title screen for the game, and it has a very interesting twist within it.

As noted below by Insider Stealth, after you bring up the opening menu in the game, you’ll have the option to do races, online play, or “Free Roam” mode. If you choose that last option, wherever you are on the title screen is where you’ll start roaming!

That’s a clever way for people to get “right into the game,” and it highlights once more just how powerful the Switch 2 system is, as it can allow such methods freely. Mario Kart World is really leaning into the open world element, so this kind of ability feels right up the game’s alley. We’ll get to enjoy the game when it and the Nintendo Switch 2 drop on June 5th.
