Lies of P: Overture Previews Reveal Boss Rush, Difficulty Options, and More

A week ago, I caught wind that the developer behind Lies of P had invited several gaming journalists and content creators to Los Angeles for a hands-on preview of the upcoming Lies of P: Overture expansion. I won’t lie—I was pretty bummed not to be included, especially considering how much I hyped up the game, all the guides I’ve written, and the videos I’ve put out. But hey, it is what it is.

Now that the embargo has lifted, the folks who attended that event are starting to release their coverage, and from what I’ve seen so far, Lies of P: Overture is shaping up to be something special. If you played the original game, there’s a lot to get excited about. It looks like Round 8 Studio and Neowiz are aiming to make the game more accessible by introducing difficulty settings—a trend we’re seeing more of in the Soulslike genre. The bosses also appear to be more dynamic this time around, and there’s even a boss rush mode titled Battle Memories and Death March.

Below are a handful of previews I’ve spotted so far. I’m sure more are on the way and I’ll keep updating this article as I come across them.

The Lies of P Overwrute DLC will be priced at $29.99, and will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There’s still no release date, but Round 8 Studio/Neowiz aims to release the game in Summer 2025.
