The Boys has been one of the most unique, popular, and yes, controversial, superhero adaptations ever made. The series has never been afraid to be political, to basically predict the future of what would happen should certain bad people come to power, and how absolute power can corrupt even the best of people…or, at least, those with the best intentions. Season 5 will bring the show to an end, and many are wondering who will survive it all. Enter Erik Kripke, the showrunner behind the madness, who revealed to Deadline that death is likely to happen and none of your favorites are safe.
Literally, he said, “There will probably be lots of deaths,” and “There’s no guarantee of who’s gonna survive.”
Another member of the crew noted:
“There are some things that are coming in Season 5 that you’re not going to have in your bingo card.”
One of the ironies of The Boys’ final season is that it’s pretty much a guarantee that it WON’T end like the comics did for various reasons. The show heavily changed the stories of both The Butcher, Homelander, Black Noir, and others who had a big hand in the final issue and arc.
The good news is that the final season is filming now and is likely to drop next year. For my thoughts on Season 4, check out my review!
