Baki the Grappler Manga Gets Global English Release

By Josh PiedraMay 15, 2025

It has been announced that Kyodo Printing Co., Ltd. will be reprinting and releasing the classic manga series Baki the Grappler; however, if you’re looking for the original 42 volumes to be reprinted, you will be out of luck as the company is issuing them as a Complete Edition over 24 omnibus volumes.

The Baki the Grappler Complete Edition series will be available in October with pre-order dates announced at a later date.

Kodama describes the series as follows:

Baki the Grappler is the first installment in Keisuke Itagaki’s long-running Baki series, originally serialized in Akita  Publishing’s Weekly Shōnen Champion. With over 100 million copies sold worldwide as of May 2024, the martial arts franchise stands as one of Japan’s most emblematic and best-selling manga, loved for its intense action and  iconic characters.
