Soul Hackers 2 and Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising Head to PS Plus Extra For May 2025

By Sean GarmerMay 15, 2025
Soul Hackers 2

Sony adds nine new games to PlayStation Plus Extra and one to PlayStation Plus Premium for the month of May. The inclusions this month are on a wide ranging spectrum from EA’s Battlefield V to Bandai Namco‘s Sand Land and even Five Night’s at Freddy’s: Help Wanted. On the RPG front, there’s the cult hit Gloomhaven and Atlus’s Soul Hackers 2. Plus, a fighting game addition in Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising in the mix as well.

Soul Hackers 2 released in 2022 for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and is part of the larger Devil Summoner series, with the game itself being a sequel to Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, which originally for the SEGA Saturn in 1997 and was later ported in 1999 to the PlayStation 1. Soul Hackers 2 stars Ringo as she and her partner Figue as agents of an A.I. named Aion fight to prevent an absolute apocalypse. Featuring turn-based combat, an anime style, and of course demons, the game isn’t perfect by any means, especially when it comes to its dungeon designs. But for those looking for more Shin Megami Tensei games to play, this is worth checking out.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is a direct sequel to Granblue Fantasy Versus and features many of the same characters in the popular Granblue Fantasy Relink. Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising released in late 2023 on PS4 and PS5. The Arc Systems Work 2D fighter introduces new Dash and Triple attacks and does feature rollback netcode and crossplay as well. For those fighting game fans looking for something else to play, this may be a game to look out for when you can begin playing it on the service on May 20.

Here is the full list of what’s coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium for May 2025 (All games available on May 20)…
