Celebrate the Power of Protecting Our Planet with the Ultraman: Earth Day Collection

By Josh PiedraApril 9, 2025

his Earth Day, Tsuburaya Productions is bringing fans a whole new way to celebrate the importance of protecting our planet.  Beginning April 22, 2025 at 6:00p PT/9:00p ET, viewers can head to the Ultraman Official English YouTube Channel as the brand continues its mission to inspire fans—this time with a special curated playlist featuring four iconic episodes that showcase Ultraman coming to the rescue of humanity’s relationship with planet Earth. Across generations, Ultraman has tackled themes of environmental responsibility, with episodes using Kaiju as powerful metaphors for ecological challenges and interspecies coexistence.  Ahead of the Earth Day special, Tsuburaya has released the synopses for the four episodes featured in the collection.

The episodes included in the Earth Day playlist on April 22 are:

  • Ultraman Gaia Episode 7 Cleansing of the Earth

A mysterious typhoon seems to be caused by something other than the weather and it’s up to the XIG defense team to prevent the unnatural disaster from wreaking too much havoc. When the menace is revealed to be a nature control machine called Ten-kai, Ultraman Gaia must stop it from wiping out humanity with tornadoes and hurricanes!

  • Ultraman Cosmos Episode 5 Revenge of the Fireflies

In Fubuki’s hometown, Hotarugamura, firefly-like lights attack vehicles, erasing them one after another. The mysterious lights turn out to be large amounts of metals illegally thrown away in the village that fused with the mysterious light called Chaos-Header. But before Ultraman Cosmos can stop the threat, they fuse into the terrifying kaiju Chaos-Bug!

  • Ultraman X Episode 10 The Monster Won’t Move

When a plant-like monster appears in the village, Daichi and his fellows try to heal its apparent malnutrition, only to be stopped by a scream. Can Ultraman X bridge the divide between the villagers and the peaceful kaiju Houlinga?

  • Ultraman Taiga Episode 22 What’s Up with Takkong?

A mysterious young boy suddenly appears before Hiroyuki and predicts the appearance of monsters. Sure enough, the kaiju Takkong arises from the bottom of the ocean, while the kaiju Giestron simultaneously appears from underground! The boy tells Hiroyuki that the Earth is in danger. Can Hiroyuki and Taiga do as the boy asks and save the planet!?

Ultraman

The Ultraman Universe first debuted in 1966 with the launch of the television series Ultra Q. Over the last 58+ years, the Ultraman franchise has spawned a record number of television series, films, video games, and more.
