The upcoming Superman film by director James Gunn is the “true start” of the DCU, and many people feel that this film will shatter all records and expectations when it drops. Whether it will or not remains to be seen, but a new sneak peek for the film has dropped. It acts a bit of an “extension” to the first teaser trailer, where we see the Man of Steel injured and he calls upon Krypto to help him get back to the Fortress of Solitude for some healing. This is the first time we see the fortress and it does have a slightly different vibe to it than other versions.
First, it hides itself when Superman and Krypto aren’t around, and it can even adjust itself to the sunlight to heal Kal-El. You can also hear the James Gunn-style of humor with automatons that maintain the fortress. While the clip is brief, it does showcase the “spirit” of the film in many ways. The movie arrives in theaters on July 11th.
