Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Gets Synopsis For New Story Content!

By Todd BlackFebruary 28, 2025
Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition

I get more excited for Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition with pretty much each passing day. After all, we’re only a few weeks away from the game finally arriving on Nintendo Switch! As we noted on the latest Nintendo Entertainment Podcast episode, everything about the Wii U title has been truly upgraded on the Switch, and that includes getting a new story that follows the main campaign! For the longest time, we only knew that it was coming, but knew nothing about what we could expect. However, that’s finally changed, as Nintendo has given the synopsis for what’s to come.

Thanks to Nintendo Everything for finding this. As you’ll read below, a lot is about to happen on Planet Mira. WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

“Shortly after the conclusion of the decisive battle inside the Lifehold, a mysterious ‘disappearance phenomenon’ occurs throughout Mira. A void that swallows everything and expands its territory, leaving behind not even light. To add insult to injury, a new enemy, the Ghosts, emerge from the void and attack the members of BLADE…

Just as the protagonists are in dire straits, a Skell descends from the sky. It is the Ares, the machine that destroyed the oncoming enemy and protected everyone’s lives as the White Whale crashed on Mira. It was thought to be missing along with its pilot, but it once again joins the group as they face a new threat. A vanishing phenomena, the Ghosts, and remnants of the Ganglion-and then the floating continent that appears above Mira, along with these new threats. BLADE must once again secure the safety of humanity, on this unknown land.”

So, yeah, Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition is not holding back with this new content. Just as cool, though, is that a couple of new characters were posted on Nintendo’s Twitter, further showing just how fresh things will be when the gamed drops on March 20th:

“Humans really are resilient. I have a lot to learn from you…”

Neilnail is an archaeologist studying alien civilizations. She is friendly, scholarly, and curious. She is very intrigued by the culture and customs of the people of Earth. #XenobladeChroniclesX pic.twitter.com/kQX0puQskw
