Monster Hunter Wilds: Disable the Seikret Auto-Explore Ability

To me, one of the biggest additions of Monster Hunter Wilds was the inclusion of the Seikret, the Dinosaur-like mount that takes players from various locations and even assists in fights. Seriously, I wish these existed because I’d get one over my dog any day. Except, by default, the Seikret does one thing that I absolutely loathe, and that’s exploring on its own or auto-explore. Simply put, it can’t sit still when you mount it, and that can cause some problems.

But thankfully, we can disable that.

Disabling the Seikret Auto-Explore Ability

To disable the Seikret  Auto-Explore, you’ll need to head to the in-game options screen. This option doesn’t exist in the main screen options.

Once in options, head to the “Game Settings” and scroll to the 3rd page. Once there, you’ll see an option called “Seikret Auto-explore”.

You’re going to disable the option by clicking on it and selecting “Off”.

With this off, the Seikret will no longer enter the auto-explore mode if you haven’t set a waypoint. Meaning, you won’t have to worry about it trying to carry you across the map or possibly into a fight, especially if you set down your controller or are Away from the Keyboard (AFK) since Monster Hunter Wilds does not have a pause option.
