Ogre Joins the Under Night in Birth 2 Sys Celes Roster

By Kevin KellyFebruary 17, 2025
Under Night In Birth 2

The Evo Awards this weekend was quite the spectacle on and off the screens. Arc System Works decided to show its’ hard work in revealing French Bread’s latest character to join the Under Night In Birth 2 roster- which is Ogre. The third DLC character in the first pass steps out of whatever dream he seemed to wake up from as the King of Devils.

Armed with power, the character provides a lot of rushdown opportunities through his normals and specials. Orge also has a long-ranged counter that gets him up close and personal to the opponent, setting him up for some devastating setups. Ogre’s hop attack can switch sides quickly enough to expose openings.Ogre Is the Latest Character to Join the Under Night in Birth 2 Sys Celes Roster Ogre Is the Latest Character to Join the Under Night in Birth 2 Sys Celes Roster

Ogre’s devil form appears at the very end of the trailer in spectacular fashion. The Michael Jackson vibe-giving character is ready to take on the Hollow Night adversaries good and bad. His Super feels more like a grab range with a fist summon from either himself or some other form to lay a smackdown on the opponent he chooses to sacrifice. Each of his dashes seems to have him grabbing onto the fedora pretty tightly. He may not be able to moonwalk smoothly, but Ogre might have an air dash.

Ogre joins Izumi and Uzuki in the first season pass with a February 20th release date. Uzuki was released last year and Izumi will be coming in August this year. At the current time, Ogre’s appearance might still be in leagues with some of the major tournaments this year including the Arc World Tour 2024 Finals next month. Just enough time to lab and main for the shows.

We’ve had a good time with Under Night In Birth 2: Sys Celes. Check out our review to see what we thought about the game.
