Arthurian Hack-And-Slack Title Tides of Annihilation Announced

By Andrew AgressFebruary 13, 2025
Tides of Annihilation

During Sony’s State of Play yesterday, Eclipse Glow Studio unveiled a first look at Tides of Annihilation. Immediately the trailer piqued interest, with a shot of a partially-destroyed London. But what’s this? Fantasy elements as well? The footage jumped back and forth between a modern London and another, more fantastical, locale. But that’s part of the idea, as the game combines modern with medieval.

Check out the trailer here and see for yourself:

Trippy, right? Well, it’s not that London got more fabulous or anything. Nothing against the city of fog. But rather Tides of Annihilation is set between two worlds; that of our own after an “otherworldly invasion” and the mythical land of Avalon. Players step into the shoes of Gwendolyn on a journey to save her sister.

What’s more, Gwendolyn discovers the ability to command the Knights of the Round Table. Arthurian Legend comes into play as players can lead these iconic knights in battle. Even boss battles will draw from Arthurian lore with over 30 unique bosses to fight.

Other features include frenetic high-speed battles, vertical challenges through the city of London, and a narrative involving unraveling a grand mystery.

“Debuting Tides of Annihilation at Sony State of Play is an incredible, humbling accomplishment for the Eclipse Glow development team,” said Kun Fu, Lead Game Producer at Eclipse Glow Games, via press release. “It’s also just the beginning. We’ve created a world that reimagines Arthurian Legend where themes of courage, loyalty, and heroism intertwine with an epic story set in a strange-yet-familiar setting that will test the mettle of true gamers and push the genre forward.”

Tides of Annihilation does not have a release date yet. But it is noted as “coming soon” to PlayStation 5 with enhancements for PS5 Pro. In the meantime, you can wishlist the game and learn more here.
